James & Elizabeth Benson Wamsley, are Great, Great, Great Grandparents. They had four children: John Wamsley, who was my Great, Great Grandfather, two brothers, George W. Wamsley, a Great, Great Uncle, born June 17th 1817 Mulica Hill, N.J. - died April 5th 1908 m1. Hope A. Hitchner in 1842 who died September 24, 1853 they had 4 children (below) - m2. December 6, 1862 Caroline Elwell b.October 18, 1828 d. January 10, 1897 they had one child;  Barzilla  Wamsley, another Great, Great Umcle born August 24, 1820 - died November 10, 1842 no marriage-no children; and their sister, Emily Wamsley born July 30, 1827 @ Mulica Hill, N.J.-died December 4th, 1900 m. Charles Emil VonStege January 16, 1868 d. April 27, 1904 @ Woodbury, N.J. They had no children.

2. John Wills Wamsley, b. January 2, 1845 d. March 1917 m. November 28, 1849 Flora Catherine Goding in Illinois b. May 27, 1849 Chicago d. January 2, 1931 They had four children; Helena b. September 22, 1868 d. 1925 m. Myron J. Woodman November 27, 1890 - complete. Arthur H. b. June 4, 1871 d. 1939 - complete. Lydia Menitable b. December 25, 1872 d. 1900 m. Robert A. Bronson November 9, 1891 - complete. Gage Rex b. May 7, 1887 (Was alive in 1970 - no replies - contiuued. 
3. Charles Hitchner Wamsley, b. October 20, 1847 Salem Co., N.J. d. March 12, 1936 at Pitman, N.J. m1. Harriet W. Newkirk May 29, 1875 she was born March 12, 1853 d. June 1, 1887 they gave issue to four children: Hanna Ackley b. November 14, 1876 & known to be alive in the 1970's - continued. George Francis b. June 27, 1879 - continued. Harry Pricket b. September 28, 1882 - continued. Freeman b. February 1885 d. February 1885 - complete. Charled Hitchner married again after his first wife died, m2. Mary Handren b. 1861 d. May 24, 1927 @ Elmer, N.J. They had no children, but she helped raise 3 of his children with Harriet.
4. Amanda C. Wamsley, b. 1850 d. June 12, 1928 @ Bridgeton, N.J. m. George W. Sigara November 28, 1875 he was born 1849 d. July 21, 1935. They had 1 child, Bertha Richmand Sigara b. November 8, 1887 d. May 26, 1948. He & his wife are interred side by side in Deerfielf, N.J.

The one child from George W. Wamsley to Caroline Elwell m2. was:
Francis (Frank) W. Wamsley, b. September 26, 1866 @ Whig Lane, Upper Pittsgrove Twp., N.J. d. March 18, 1949 in Charleston, S.C. m. Adeline Glines of Providence, R. I. September 15, 1895. Adeline was born July 8, 1868 d. September 10, 1966. They had two children:
1. Russel, b. 1897 d. 1904 - complete.
2. Grace Helen b. November 4, 1901 @ Wood Hole, Cae Cod d. ? m. Bartlett Monroe Van Note on May 30, 1926 @ Highland Falls, N.Y., He was born September 18 1901 @ Tuckerton, N.J.  d. 1956 Massachusetts.
They had four children:
1. Bartlett M. Van Note, Jr. b. May 26, 1928 @ Hartford, Ct.
2. Margaret Van Note (a twin) b. October 31, 1931 @ New Haven, Ct.
3. Jane Van Note (other twin)
4. William Van Note b. December 8, 1935 @ Waterville, Maine

John & Judith Lummis Burroughs Wamsley, my Great, Great Grandparents.
They had eight children: Socrates Townsend Wamsley, my Great Grandfather, four brothers; Thomas Banks Wamsley, Sr. a Great Uncle, born April 15th, 1837-died-Mar ch 9, 1918; Henry Janvier Wamsley born November 6, 1840-died May 14, 1864; John Burroughs Wamsley born July 26, 1843-died July 7, 1905; James Armineous Wamsley born April 19, 1851-died December 10, 1914. Also, my Great Grandfather had three sisters, which of course were Great Aunts: Ann Elizabeth Wamsley born December 29, 1838-died May 8, 1913, Anna Baker Wamsley born December 26, 1856-died April 5, 1882, Carrie ParkerWamsley born July 21, 1861 death unknown.
