John & Andrew Burns, beleived to be brothers from Perthshire, Scotland in the 1700's, appear to be progenitors of those that followed to PEI, Ca.: I believe that John Burns was my GGGG Grandfather and Andrew my GGGG Uncle.

The intent of this page does not include all the Burns family since it merely attempts to show the lineage through to the Walmsley's from the earliest known records. It does, however, mention many brothers and sisters of my grandparents. A helpful record for more information on the Burns clan is the book: "Freetown - Past and Present", published by the Freetown Historical Society © Canada 1985 by the Freetown, PEI Hisorical Society.
