A special thankyou to Gayle Vernon Simkin of Phoenix, Az. for eleven of the photos that folllow and also new information about my great grandfather we never knew before. Her great-great grandmother (Sarah) married my great grandfather, S. Townsend Wamsley in 1890.

Townsend Wamsley and his post Civil War life and his marriage to her great great grandmother, Sarah A. McDaniel (Smith) Wamsley. This was a very important breakthrough for us.
